Get your brand on the lock screen

Live Activities offer a unique proposition within the omni-channel space, by offering, real-time, at-a-glance app experiences visible on their iPhone lock screens and Dynamic Islands for up to 8 hours.

This makes them more dominant in users lives in comparison to more traditional message methods such as Email, or Push notifications.

Types of Live Activities

Event Based

We introduced an activity id which effectively allows a single API call to be made, to update millions of devices at once. This enables updates for live events, such as sports scores, broadening Apple’s design and intended use of Live Activities.

1-on-1 Live Activities

Introducing a series of engagement metrics in order for clients to understand their ROI of Live Activities.

Phased Rollout

Phase 1: Developer API and ADK

Getting developers to send Live Activities to single devices for personalization, and many devices to encompass large scale even updates.

Phase 2: Engagement Metrics

Introducing a series of engagement metrics in order for clients to understand their ROI of Live Activities.

Phase 3: Dashboard UX

Bringing the ability to create and send Live Activities from the OneSignal dashboard, allowing it to be positioned as a marketing channel.

Real-time Updates

OneSignal is the best at high-speed message delivery, providing unmatched low latency that outperforms the complex, time-consuming notification systems customers attempt to build on their own.

As a result, OneSignal is uniquely positioned to provide great real-time updates to power live activities.

Pricing and Entitlements

Designed the pricing model for Live Activities to balance accessibility for developers with scalability for enterprise customers. By aligning the model with the company’s subscription goals and enterprise packaging strategy, I ensured that developers could easily try out the feature while also making it a valuable offering for larger businesses.

GTM

Given this was a new message area, I led a mix of webinars, community engagement, and early access programs, partnering with Sales and Marketing teams. Additionally, we leveraged strategic partnerships with Apple, NFL, MLB and other mobile-first companies.

Ruby led us to victory with Live Activities. She was at the helm from beginning to end planning, communicating and delegating.
